Mangal Aarti sermon*

This world is not home for anyone, and one cannot live in this world forever. Yet, everyone is deluded.
Everyone is in ignorance. One must come out of ignorance and *purify their existence.*
*Spiritual life begins from understanding that one is not this body, I am a (part of) Super-Soul, and I have a relationship with The Lord, Supreme Father.*
The lust, a man thinking about a woman and a woman about a man, is the all-devouring sinful enemy of the world. *If one wants (to attain) Rama, (one must) give up lust.*
*When one separates self from Krishna, love for Krishna transforms into lust. It is a distorted form of love for (Sri) Krishna.*
Do not apply oil on Pratipada, Shashthi, Ashtami, Ekadashi, Chaturdashi, Poornima, and Amavasya days. (_Ref: Brahmavaivart Purana_).
One should not apply oil on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. (_Ref: Padma Purana_).
Applying oil on Sunday brings suffering, radiance on Monday, disease on Tuesday, good fortune on Wednesday, poverty on Thursday, loss on Friday, and prosperity on Saturday. (_Ref: Narada Purana_).
There is no sin in applying oil by adding flowers on Sunday, soil on Tuesday, Durva on Thursday, and cow dung on Friday. (_Ref: Dharma Sindhu_).
One who applies oil daily, oil application on any day is not impure. Application of oil, infused with fragrant perfume, etc., is also not impure on any day. Mustard oil does not become impure on any day except during an eclipse. (_Ref: Shiva Purana_).
After applying oil on the head, do not apply the remaining on the body. (_Ref: Kurma Purana_).
*Of all the living entities with material bodies in this world, one who got awarded this human form should not work hard day and night simply for sense gratification*
*It is available even for dogs and hogs who eat feces. One must engage in penance and austerity to attain the divine position of devotional service. By doing so, the heart becomes pure. Having achieved this position, one attains eternal, blissful life, transcendental to material happiness, which continues forever.* (_SB 5.5.1_)
*O! Arjuna, in contact with the material mode of passion, lust is born and later transforms into wrath.*
*It is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.* (_BG 3.37_)
