Highlights from the discourse of *His Holiness Srila Nava Yogendra Swamiji Maharaj*

*Mangal Aarti Sermon*

Date: *January 23rd, 2025, ISKCON, Udhampur.*

*Sensual desires take one away from The Lord. Everyone has come to the level of the body. One is not the body but the soul. One has to use this body to arrive at the level of the soul.*

The narrator should narrate the narrative (sermon/pastimes) not for money but for the pleasure of The Lord.

One must accept accept refuge in The Lord and *hand over the thread of one's life in the hands of The Lord. The Lord is kind to those who surrender. When one is in His refuge, He takes care of them (at the end of life). One should do Navadha Bhakti (nine ways of doing devotion) - hearing, singing, remembering, service at the feet, worship, salutation, servitude, friendship, and self-surrender.*

After defecation, one must apply soil on the urinating organ once, three times on the anus, ten times on the left hand, then on both hands seven times, and on both feet three times and washed. _(Ref: Manusmriti, Dakshasmriti, Vishnusmriti, Vishnupuran, Naradapuran.)_

This rule of defecation is for householders. It is double for Brahmacharis, triple for Vanaprasthis, and quadruple for Sanyasis. _(Ref: Manusmriti, Vishnupuran, Narada puran.)_

At night, one should practice half of the defecation rules prescribed during the day. Patients should also practice half times. While traveling, it is one-fourth (half of half). _(Ref: Vadhulsmriti.)_

*Whoever you meet, instruct them (Lord Sri) Krishna's instruction (to worship Him).*

*Under My order, become a spiritual master to liberate everyone in this country.* (_CC Madhya 7.128_)

*The wealth and youth will fade away like camphor.*

*Chant the glories of The Lord to avoid licking the mud (to rectify your misfortune, repent at the end.)* 

*A soul forgetting its original position of being a servitor to The Lord wants to enjoy sense-gratification,*

*Gets immediately captured by Māyā(devi).*

*One who gets protection from Krishna, who can kill them.*

*One who is to be killed by Krishna, who can save them.*

दिनांक:- *जनवरी 24, 2025, इस्कॉन उधमपुर।*

बार-बार तेरा जन्म हो रहा है, बार-बार मृत्यु हो रही है। हम बार-बार माँ के गर्भ में जठराग्नि का कष्ट भोग रहे हैं। यह बुरा प्रभाव इस संसार का है। *इससे बचने के लिए हमें गोविंद की शरण लेनी है।*

*हमें अपनी सत्ता को शुद्ध करना है।*

हमें भक्ति करनी है और भक्ति का प्रचार करना है।

*यदि हम पूरा जीवन प्रयास करेंगे, तो जीवन के अंत में भगवान का नाम जिह्वा पर आ जाएगा।*

नाभि से नीचे बायें हाथ से और नाभि से ऊपर दाहिने हाथ से काम लेना चाहिये। अतः शौच के बाद बायें हाथ से शुद्धि करनी चाहिये - वाधुलस्मृति।

जल के भीतर की, देवालय की, बाँबी की, चूहे द्वारा इकठ्ठी की गई, शौच से बची हुई, रास्ते की, श्मशान-भूमि की, ऊसर भूमि की, घर की दीवार से ली हुई, लीपने-पोतने के काम में लाई हुई, कुश और दूब की जड़ से निकाली हुई, चौराहे की, गौशाला की, चींटी आदि छोटे-छोटे जीवों द्वारा निकाली हुई और हल से उखाड़ी हुई—इन सब प्रकार की मिट्टियों का शौच कर्म में उपयोग नहीं करना चाहिये - विष्णु पुराण, स्कंद पुराण, देवी-भागवत।

*कर लो भजन श्रीकृष्ण का, यह काम आएगा।*

*छूटेंगे धन व जन, मगर यह साथ जाएगा॥*

*भक्त्य‍‍ा मामभिजानाति यावान्यश्चास्मि तत्त्वत:।*

*ततो मां तत्त्वतो ज्ञात्वा विशते तदनन्तरम्॥* _(भगवद गीता 18.55)_
